“Pakanli – To Bloom”: A Vivid Tribute to Choctaw Women Blossoming Through Art & Culture

In a fast-paced world, there are moments — and places — that make us pause and reflect on who we are, where we come from, and the beauty of cultural identity. Pakanli – To Bloom is one of those moments.

Now on display at the Sky Tower Art Gallery inside Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant, this art exhibition is more than just a showcase — it’s a celebration of Choctaw women, their stories, their creativity, and their powerful connection to the Earth.

Location: Sky Tower Art Gallery – Choctaw Casino & Resort, Durant, Oklahoma
On view (free admission): Through the end of August

 A Gallery Where Identity Blooms

The word “Pakanli” means “to bloom” in the Choctaw language — and bloom it does.

Each brushstroke in this exhibition reflects generations of resilience, tradition, and spirit. These are not just artworks — they are cultural legacies, blooming in vibrant color and emotion.

Step inside, and you’ll feel like you're witnessing a sacred dance between nature and heritage.
