✨ A Myth Reimagined in Glass and Light

First launched in 2018, this immersive exhibition retells the ancient Tlingit legend of Raven bringing light to the world — but through the lens of radiant, hand-blown glass. The exhibit has traveled to prestigious venues like the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian and the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, captivating audiences with its haunting beauty and cultural depth.

“Bringing this work home to Juneau, to the land of my ancestors, is incredibly meaningful.”

Áak’w Landing: More Than a Gallery

Set to open in 2027, Áak’w Landing is more than just a venue — it’s a living, breathing celebration of Indigenous knowledge, creativity, and community.

Here’s what’s coming:

  •  A year-round art gallery featuring “Raven and the Box of Daylight”

  •  Classrooms and cultural learning spaces

  •  Community gathering areas and event venues

  •  Retail shops showcasing Native-made goods and art

This is where culture, commerce, and storytelling merge into an unforgettable experience — for locals and travelers alike.

From a Touring Legacy to a Permanent Light

The exhibit will continue its U.S. tour through 2026, after which it will settle permanently at Áak’w Landing. For Singletary and the Tlingit people, this marks a symbolic homecoming — a return not only of artwork, but of ancestral narrative, pride, and presence.

The Juneau Assembly will soon vote on a key lease ordinance for the waterfront development, paving the way for full construction plans to unfold.
